Super Mini Plus

1 - 10 Passengers

The Super Mini Plus is extremely simple yet robust, making it a perfect choice for vessels operating with up to 10 berthed passengers.

The scope of supply includes everything you need to effect a perfect, 'set-and-forget' installation of a high quality and reliable sewage treatment solution.
HL-Cont Plus Series

The Hamann HL-Cont Plus series of sewage treatment plants are available in a range of capacities to suit any type of installation. The treatment plant is conveniently constructed within a single skid in order to minimise the installation space requirement.

The treatment process is simple, automatic and requires very little crew intervention. The scope of supply includes a variety of options, allowing you the flexibility to incorporate existing facilities or have a complete turn-key package offering proven and reliable service.
Treatment Process

Dissolved air floatation is a well-known treatment process whereby contaminants are removed through a separation process involving tiny air bubbles and chemical flocculant.

When the level inside the onboard collection tank rises to the “start” level, the treatment plant will start automatically. Sewage will circulate through the treatment plant for a short, fixed time (only a few minutes). This circulation process provides time for the bioreactor to to grow and the UV steriliser to achieve optimal performance.

Sewage inside the treatment plant is saturated with air at a pressure of about 6 bar. The sewage remains pressurised until reaching the expansion valve A-1-H-004 (please refer to the process diagram). After passing through expansion valve, the sewage is unpressurised (atmospheric pressure).

Chemical flocculant is added to the sewage to help the separation and treatment process.

Due to the pressure loss after the expansion valve, tiny bubbles within the sewage begin to expand. As a result, an air cushion of many thousands of small air bubbles is formed within the flotation tank. As the air bubbles expand and rise, sludge particles are lifted to the surface inside flotation tank. The chemical flocculant helps to bind the sludge particles together into a solid mass that is supported by the air bubbles. The sludge is lifted into a separation chamber where it falls by gravity into a sludge collection chamber within the flotation tank. When the sludge chamber is full, it is automatically discharged to the customerʼs sludge tank inside the ship.

Heavy, cleaner sewage water is always present below the air bubbles inside the lower section of the flotation tank. The outer section of the flotation tank contains a fixed bed bioreactor. Natural bacteria inside of the sewage grow on the bioreactor. These bacteria digest the harmful nutrients within the sewage water.

As the clear water exits the flotation tank, it will pass through a UV steriliser to kill any harmful bacteria or pathogens before discharge to the ocean.

There are many advantages to this treatment process when compared to conventional membrane bioreactors or settlement-type electro-chemical systems:
  • Lower operating costs. Our system does not need filters or membranes.
  • Reliable operation. We do not need activated sludge, therefore there is no risk of toxic shock caused by aggressive chemical use by the crew or passengers.
  • The treatment process is not affected by changes in hydraulic load.
  • The treatment plant has a very high capacity and a very small installation space requirement.
  • The high capacity process requires a smaller holding tank.
  • The treatment plant requires a small 25 mm ventilation connection where as others need much larger ventilation connections.
